bonjour

je viens d'acquérir un superbe sabre britannique

the name of is owner ( A H SQUARE ), and the regiment (RFA)
the maker S.J.PILLIN – 31 GERRARD St – LONDON.W


je ne suis pas sur que ce type de sabre ai été utilisé au combat mais ....

il a appartenu au major Alwyn Holberton SQUARE du Royal field artillery

cet officier a reçu la military cross en 18

ci -dessous le début de mes recherches a son sujet


Major Alwyn Holberton Square of The RFA was awarded the Military Crossin the London Gazetteon 7th November 1918 "for conspicuous gallantry with his battery in action, under heavy barragefire".

SQUARE, T/Capt (A/Maj) Alwyn Holberton, LG 7th November 1918

For conspicuous gallantry with his battery in action, under heavy barrage fire. When the whole of a detachment was killed or wounded by a shell he was the first to help the wounded to safety, although badly shaken himself, and subsequently he visited all his detachments and encouraged the men, severe shell fire continuing throughout.

LG 1st March 1921
Temporary Captain A. H. Square, M.C., 23rd February 1919, and is granted the rank of Major.

LG 12th December 1939
Major Alwyn Holberton SQUARE, M.C. (103730), from A.O.E.R. [Army Officers Emergency Reserve] (late R.A.), to be Major, 24th August 1939.

LG 9th July 1948
Major A. H. SQUARE, M C (103730), having exceeded the age limit, relinquishes his commn , 10th July 1948, retaining the rank of Major.


je ne connais absolument rien au "swords" mon sujet de collection etant  le cap badge, peut être certain d'entre vous peuvent m'aider et m'en dire plus a son sujet (toute aide ou renseignement me sera trés utile, merci d'avance)

tu n'as pas d'indication sur sa brigade d'appartenance.

malheureusement je ne dispsoe que des renseignements que me donne le sabre lui-même...

je n'ai rien sur l'unité ou les unitées successives de son propriétaire

a ce titre je suis preneur de toute aide possible
